Dräger Alcotest 7110 – only breathalyzer with proven scientific reliability
On March 17th, 2008 the New Jersey Supreme Court approved the scientific reliability and suitability of Draeger’s Alcotest 7110 MK III-C (“7110”).
"Though we expected this result of the litigation, the decision by the Surpreme Court is very gratifying. The Alcotest 7110 MK III-C is the only evidential breath tester worldwide that has had its source code evaluated by two independent third-party software specialists and received legal confirmation by the highest state court that it is scientifically reliable” said Hansueli Ryser, Vice President, Draeger Safety Diagnostics, Inc.
Read more about it in the New York Times:
“The decision by the court, which held that the new technology is sound, allows the State Police and law enforcement officials in 17 of New Jersey’s 21 counties to resume using a new breath test known as the Alcotest 7110, which is considered more reliable than standard Breathalyzer tests. Breathalyzers, which have been used by the police in New Jersey for a half-century, are mechanical devices that rely on the operator’s ability to properly set them up and accurately interpret their readings.”

Only evidential breath tester with approved source code
The Alcotest 7110 MK III-C represents the most advanced evidential breath alcohol testing technology available. Employing two different and independent measuring systems – infrared spectroscopy and electrochemical cell technology – the device provides the highest level of forensic and legal integrity. It is the only evidential breath tester on the market whose source code has been reviewed by independent third parties and approved by a judge after an evidential hearing.
